In Troisdorf, a 51-year-old cyclist from Hennef was slightly injured after a collision with a car. The cyclist was riding his Pedelec on the wrong side of the bike lane, heading towards Bonn on Friedrichstraße. The driver, a 40-year-old from Troisdorf, was attempting to turn left onto Dauner Straße from the opposite direction and failed to see the cyclist, striking him and his Pedelec.
The cyclist fell onto the car's hood and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. The damage to the vehicles was minimal, with the total cost estimated at a low four-figure amount in euros. The police have filed criminal charges for suspected negligent bodily harm in this accident.
In Sankt Augustin, another cyclist, a 35-year-old man from Hennef, was slightly injured in a second accident. The accident occurred on Meerstraße, where a 20-year-old driver from Siegburg was driving and attempted to turn right onto Bonner Straße.
Both parties involved in the accidents were from the respective towns. The original content of the article was transmitted via news aktuell from the Kreispolizeibehörde Rhein-Sieg-Kreis.
Authorities responsible for investigating suspected negligent bodily harm in traffic accidents in the Rhein-Sieg district are primarily the local police, specifically the traffic investigation department (Verkehrskommissariat) of the Kreispolizei Rhein-Sieg. Public prosecutors (Staatsanwaltschaft) oversee such criminal investigations once police reports are made. The Rhein-Sieg district administration (Landrat) and municipal offices are responsible for administrative matters but not criminal investigations.
The total damage in the Troisdorf accident was estimated at a low four-figure amount in euros, while the Sankt Augustin accident's total damage was estimated at a mid-four-figure amount. The police have also filed criminal charges for suspected negligent bodily harm in the Sankt Augustin accident.
