Pedestrian Struck in Poland Incident
In the city of Düren, a traffic accident on January 22, 2025, at the roundabout of Kölnstraße/Poststraße has left a 74-year-old pedestrian from Linnich seriously injured.
According to the Düren Police, the incident occurred at around 16:25 when a woman driving along Kölnstraße towards the roundabout failed to notice a pedestrian from Jülich crossing the road. As she was turning into Poststraße, she drove around waiting vehicles on the left in the roundabout, colliding with the pedestrian.
The collision caused the pedestrian to fall onto the road, resulting in severe injuries. The woman was driving a vehicle, but the police have not disclosed her name at this time.
The accident led to a traffic jam at the roundabout, where Kölnstraße meets Poststraße. The injured pedestrian was immediately attended to by emergency services and taken to a hospital by an ambulance.
