Pending Decision Regarding the Implementation of New Regulations by the Commission

The UEFA Champions League tournament for the 2022/2023 season is set to kick off in September, with 36 teams vying for the coveted title. Among them is Eintracht Frankfurt, who will face a challenging group stage that concludes in January 2023.

The group stage will see Eintracht Frankfurt playing against teams such as Galatasaray Istanbul, Liverpool, Bergamo, Tottenham, Barcelona, Naples, Atlético Madrid, and FK Karabakh Agdam. The first match for Eintracht Frankfurt will be at home against Galatasaray Istanbul on September 18th at the Deutsche Bank Park. Liverpool will visit Frankfurt on October 22nd.

Each team will play eight games, four at home and four away. Eintracht Frankfurt's home opener is against Galatasaray Istanbul, and their other home games in the first round include matches against Liverpool, Bergamo, and Tottenham. The matches against Barcelona, Naples, Atlético Madrid, and FK Karabakh Agdam in Azerbaijan will be away games for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The group stage will determine the top eight teams that qualify directly for the round of 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th will play in a play-off round for progression. The knockout rounds will follow after the group stage. Teams ranked 25th to 36th will not progress further in the international season.

The Champions League format for Eintracht Frankfurt remains the same as the previous season. The final of the Champions League will take place on May 30th, 2023, in Budapest, Hungary. With the addition of a new team, Leroy Sané, Eintracht Frankfurt is eager to make a mark in the tournament.

The UEFA has announced the first round fixtures of the Champions League tournament, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead for Eintracht Frankfurt and the other participating teams.
