Permission to Hunt Bears Granted in Omsk Region

In the vast expanse of the Omsk region in Russia, the allocation of bear hunting licenses for the upcoming season has been announced. A total of 537 permits are expected to be distributed across the 15 districts, with some districts offering licenses without the need for a lottery system.

The Ust-Ishimsky district has been allocated 18 bear permits, while the Murovsky district has been granted 4 permits. The Tevrizsky district, on the other hand, has been given a significant 29 licenses, making it one of the districts with the highest number of licenses. The Tar district has been allocated 8 permits, and the Nizhneomsky district has been given 2 bear permits.

The allocation of hunting rights is typically organized by lottery. However, in certain districts, such as the Tavrichesky District, permits can be obtained without the lottery system, making it the district in the Omsk Region with the largest number of bear hunting licenses granted without a lottery system.

Winning the lottery is not the final step; a state fee of 650 rubles and a special fee (dependent on the purpose of the hunt) must be paid. The special fee for a bear hunting license is set at 3000 rubles.

However, it appears that many winners of the lottery have declined the opportunity to participate in the bear hunt. This could be due to various reasons, including safety concerns, as bears in certain regions of the Omsk region have been known to attack hunters.

The bear hunting season in the Omsk region is open from August 1 to November 30. Access to hunting in these public grounds is provided in turn. It is important to note that bears in the north of the Omsk region no longer fear people and approach the outskirts of villages, destroy livestock, and frighten residents.

In a recent development, the Omsk hunting inspection conducted a re-invitation of the second-place lottery winners, but only issued 61 permits for bear shooting. This suggests that the number of permits issued may be subject to change.

The Omsk region, with its vast wilderness and abundant bear population, promises an exciting hunting season for those who choose to participate. However, safety and ethical considerations should always be a priority.
