In the heart of Germany's Kraichgau region, the towns of Eppingen and Bad Rappenau are making a name for themselves as popular tourist destinations. This summer, both cities have demonstrated their cultural diversity and tourist appeal, attracting visitors from far and wide.

Eppingen, a charming timber-framed city, has been a constant draw in the tourism sector. With 81 city tours already completed this year, and 34 more booked, the city is bustling with activity. The camper van pitch near the city center, on the Hilsbach, has been a popular choice, earning the title of "Pitch of the Month" by the specialist magazine Promobil in June. Since January, the pitch has recorded an impressive 2200 overnight stays.

Bad Rappenau, on the other hand, contributes significantly to the region's tourism, accounting for over 400,000 overnight stays per year. Visitors appreciate the clean, spacious, and affordable camper van pitches, with the Salinenpark location in particular offering a picturesque view of the nearby saltworks.

In response to the renovation of the indoor pool at the Rappsodie in Bad Rappenau, the neighboring Hotel Saline 1822 has tied a package with the Therme in Sinsheim, providing an attractive option for tourists during this period.

The Kraichgau region is not just about history and culture. Hiking and cycling trails, cultural events, and festivals abound, making it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The region is also focusing on wine, gravel biking, and selfie points, as highlighted by the Kraichgau Stromberg Tourism Association.

Looking ahead, the region is set to expand its offerings. Bernkastel-Kues is planning a campground where guests will be able to pitch their tents in a vineyard starting in summer 2026. Sulzfeld is following suit, planning a campsite in a vineyard and more wine tastings for the same period.

Whether you're a history buff, an outdoor enthusiast, or a wine lover, the Kraichgau region has something for everyone. With its affordable accommodations, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes, it's no wonder that camper van enthusiasts often book offers at short notice, eager to experience the region's charm under the warm summer sun.
