PKO Bank Polski receives consulting on wind farm construction financing, a 40 MW project backed by OX2.

The Annopol I wind farm, a 40 MW project located in Gościeradów municipality, Lubelskie Voivodship, Poland, has secured a significant financing of EUR 90 million. This development marks an important step in increasing the share of renewable energy in Poland's energy mix.

Swedish-based OX2, an international independent power producer, is behind the Annopol I wind farm. The company specialises in onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, and energy storage, and its operations span nine markets, contributing to a more sustainable society.

Global law firm X advised PKO Bank Polski on this financing deal. The legal team, led by energy and project finance partner Tomasz Rogalski, provided comprehensive advice on the financing project. Rogalski was assisted by associate Karolina Lepakiewicz, lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski, and associate Jakub Wiatrzyk.

The Annopol I wind farm transaction involved various financing facilities and a complex, multi-jurisdictional structure. Counsel Cezary Zawiślak led the legal due diligence workstream, which included associate Martyna Orłowska, lawyers Nina Strzelczyk, and Mikołaj Rydzewski.

From Kromann Reumert, partner Kumaran Thavarajah and associate Markus Ulrik Leding provided Danish law advice. Partner Arturo Sferruzza, senior associate Igor Kondratowicz-Laderski, and lawyer Regan Eastwood from X's Milan office advised on English law aspects. Counsel Krzysztof Gorzelak and lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski advised on the hedging aspects of the project.

OX2 has been accelerating the energy transition since 2004, offering end-to-end solutions, from planning and construction to sale and operation. The successful completion of the Annopol I wind farm financing demonstrates the effectiveness of close cooperation between banks, sponsors, and legal advisors in making ambitious renewable energy investments a reality.

Today, OX2's project portfolio totals 25,526 MW in various stages of development. With the Annopol I wind farm now financed and construction underway, the company continues to play a crucial role in the global shift towards renewable energy.
