New PlayStation Studio, Dark Outlaw Games, Unveiled

PlayStation has announced the launch of a new first-party game development studio named Dark Outlaw Games. The studio, which is an offshoot of PlayStation Studios under the Sony brand, is fronted by industry veteran Jason Blundell, best known for his work on the Call of Duty series.

Dark Outlaw Games' logo, unveiled recently, boasts an authoritative feel with the stylistic flair of an indie studio. The design features a slick minimalist image of a mysterious trench-coated man standing in an ominous doorway, while the typography is bold sans-serif, giving it a modern and distinctive look.

Jason Blundell, in a podcast episode with Jeff Gerstmann, spoke about his experience working with Sony, describing it as "humbling" and a "privilege". He emphasised the importance of having a harmonious team that "get the ideas clicking" at Dark Outlaw Games. The main focus of the studio, Blundell revealed, is currently on "staffing up" to build a harmonious team.

While the podcast episode did not provide any new information about Dark Outlaw Games' projects or games, Blundell did mention that the studio will reveal information when it's ready to "step out into the light". This comes as Sony is embracing new ventures, including the creation of Dark Outlaw Games.

The launch of the PlayStation 5 was met with mixed reactions from fans, and the mystery surrounding Dark Outlaw Games only adds to the excitement. As of now, the exact release date for the new game by Dark Outlaw Games led by Jason Blundell is not known. However, it's clear that the studio is working in secrecy for some time, and the wait for more information is expected to continue.

It's worth noting that the podcast episode did not contain any advertisements for Horizon, Intergalactic, or Creative Bloq, indicating that Dark Outlaw Games' projects may not be related to these titles. The studio remains shrouded in mystery, but with the pedigree of Jason Blundell leading the way, expectations are high for what Dark Outlaw Games will bring to the gaming world.
