"When I first started, I encountered cheaters at all levels, from cellphone-smuggling amateurs to sophisticated, high-rolling masterminds."
And high-rollers are the real threat.
"Cheaters are attracted to high-stakes tables because casinos are reluctant to confront them. They tolerate the cheating because they don't want to anger their valuable customers."

As a prominent figure in the poker community and a speaker at industry events like the World Game Protection Conference, Konnikova is advocating for change.
"If you want to maintain game integrity, you have to take it seriously and inconvenience players in the short term," she states.
