PokerStars Cancels 2025 US COOP, Promises Bigger 2026 Return

PokerStars has announced the cancellation of the 2025 US Championship of Online Poker (US COOP) in the USA. The event, which took place in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania last year with over $5.5 million in guarantees, will not return until 2026 with promises of a bigger and better series.

PokerStars' decision comes amidst uncertainty surrounding FanDuel's plans for the migration of PokerStars in the USA. While FanDuel has been expanding its services in states like Michigan, there's no official word on their intentions regarding the PokerStars migration.

Last year, PokerStars had planned to enter the shared liquidity pool in Pennsylvania but delayed the announcement due to global operational priorities. Meanwhile, PokerStars continues to host major events. The COOP 25 is currently underway in Ontario from September 12 to 29, boasting a $2 million series guarantee. Globally, the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 2025 is set to take place from September 7 to October 1 with a massive $65 million guarantee.

The absence of the US COOP in 2025 may disappoint American poker enthusiasts, but PokerStars assures a grand return in 2026. In the meantime, players can look forward to ongoing events like the COOP 25 in Ontario and the global WCOOP.
