Police apprehend suspect in Friemersheim following evasion of law enforcement checkpoint; warrant issued, stolen vehicle recovered
In a series of events, a 31-year-old Romanian man has been taken into custody following his extradition from Romania to Germany. The man is suspected of sexually abusing a six-year-old girl near the Rust amusement park and is also wanted for a theft involving a weapon.
The arrest took place on August 15, 2025, and the man is currently being held in pre-trial detention following a judge's order in Freiburg.
The events leading up to the arrest began with the discovery of a car in a courtyard on Krefelder Street. The vehicle, a VW with Dutch license plates, was found during a crime scene search. However, further investigation revealed that the license plates were not issued for that particular car, and the vehicle itself was reported stolen.
Upon apprehending the man, officers took him to a police holding cell. During the subsequent inspection, the 31-year-old admitted to consuming drugs. A doctor was called to take a blood sample from the arrested individual.
