Police apprehended an intoxicated motorist, a shift in colors from the traditional red-light offender.

In the heart of Erfurt, Germany, a 46-year-old woman found herself in a difficult situation last Saturday evening. At 7 pm, a patrol unit from the Northern Inspection Service, a division within the Thuringian Police State Police Inspectorate Erfurt, noticed a vehicle in the Roter Berg area that stopped at a green traffic light.

Upon further investigation, the officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the next intersection. The driver was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 2.87 per thousand, well above the legal limit in Germany.

The woman, who had two children in the vehicle, was immediately arrested for driving under the influence. Her journey through Thuringia was imminent, which would have been a nearly hour-long drive.

The woman's drive ended there as she had to undergo a blood test at a police station and surrender her driver's license. A criminal proceeding was initiated against her.
