Woman Apprehended for Unpaid Computer Fraud Fine at Magdeburg Central Station
A woman was taken into custody at Magdeburg Central Station on August 27, 2025, after a routine check revealed an active arrest warrant against her.
The arrest warrant, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Schwerin on August 15, 2025, was a result of the woman's failure to pay a significant portion of a fine imposed on her for a computer fraud conviction.
In February 2023, the Local Court of Ludwigslust sentenced the woman to a fine of 750 euros or 50 days of imprisonment for her computer fraud offence. However, she only paid a small part of the imposed fine, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant by the Schwerin Public Prosecutor's Office (Staatsanwaltschaft Schwerin).
The woman was initially scheduled to report to Magdeburg Central Station on August 27, 2025, to fulfil her reporting obligations. During the check, it was discovered that the outstanding amount of the fine was 460 euros, and the woman could not pay this amount.
As a consequence, the officers executed the arrest warrant, and the woman was taken to a detention facility to serve her 46-day imprisonment.
