Police at Düsseldorf Airport, under the authority of the Federal Police, made four arrests on a Wednesday.
On September 3, 2025, the Federal Police made three significant arrests at Düsseldorf Airport during both immigration and emigration controls. The apprehended individuals were a 26-year-old Polish man, a 48-year-old Georgian man, and a 47-year-old Georgian woman, all arriving from different international destinations.
The Polish man, who resides in Poland, was wanted by the Regional Court of Bamberg for illegal import of narcotics. He was sentenced to a youth detention sentence of four years and eight months in June 2021. In addition, he had an outstanding sentence of 62 days. The Polish man was able to pay a fine of 1,500 euros and thus avoided a substitute custodial sentence.
The Georgian woman, who was also apprehended on the same day, had an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz in February 2023. She was convicted for fraud involving residence permits in May 2023. Similar to the Polish man, she was able to pay a fine of 1,500 euros and thus avoided a substitute custodial sentence of 50 days.
A third arrest warrant was issued for the Georgian woman in February of 2025, and for the Georgian man in April of 2025, both by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz, for fraudulently obtaining residence titles. The charges were confirmed in May 2023. However, further details regarding the sentences for these individuals are not available.
The Spanish man, who lives in Düsseldorf, was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Düsseldorf for fraud since August 2025. On the same day, he was arrested during emigration controls on a flight to Istanbul, Turkey. The Spanish man was able to pay a fine of 1,800 euros and thus avoided a substitute custodial sentence of 18 days.
