Police authorities carried out two warrants for a man, leading to his imprisonment for 92 days, as per a sentencing decision.
A German national was arrested at Magdeburg Central Station on August 15, 2025, by Federal Police officers. The arrest came after two arrest warrants were issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Halle (Saale) - Branch Office Naumburg, as the individual had not served his sentence in either case.
The man, who had been convicted of petty theft in October 2023 and sentenced to an initial €300 fine or 60 days' imprisonment, had also been convicted of fraud in January 2025. He was sentenced to a €350 fine or 70 days' imprisonment, but had not served his sentence in either case. As a result, the arrest warrants were issued in July 2025.
Upon his arrest, the Federal Police officers served the warrants and took the man to the station. Since he could not pay the outstanding amount of €635, he was taken to a detention facility to serve the remaining 92 days of his imprisonment.
