Police carry out an arrest warrant; 28-year-old suspect hands over 1750 euros and avoids 70 days in jail

Police carried out an arrest warrant, leading to a 28-year-old individual being detained. Instead of serving a 70-day sentence, the individual managed to secure their freedom by paying 1750 euros.

In a recent development, the Federal Police in Halle (Saale) executed an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dessau-Roßlau on September 1, 2025, at 09:00. The individual in question, a 28-year-old, was sentenced by the Bitterfeld-Wolfen court in August 2021 for fraudulently obtaining services in eight cases.

The arrest warrant was issued due to the suspect's failure to pay the demanded amount or surrender to punishment, following a conviction and sentencing in August 2021. The sentence imposed was a fine of 1750 euros or 70 days of imprisonment. However, upon arrest, the suspect paid the outstanding amount, thereby avoiding a 70-day imprisonment.

The Federal Police officers, who carried out the arrest, immediately informed the competent authority about the execution of the arrest warrant. The details of the suspect are not disclosed in the available sources.
