Police from the federal level executed arrest warrants during border checks in North Rhine-Westphalia (BPOL NRW)
In an unexpected turn of events, the German Federal Police made two arrests in separate incidents on August 7, 2025. The first arrest took place at Gronau train station, while the second occurred on the A52 motorway near Kempen.

The Lithuanian was wanted for these crimes, and after completion of police measures, he was taken to the detention center in Münster to start his imprisonment, as he could not pay the fines.
In a separate incident, a 36-year-old Hungarian entered the federal territory from the Netherlands on the A52 motorway in the evening. The Hungarian was wanted for violating the Anti-Doping Act and driving without a license. He was arrested on the spot and taken to the Federal Police Station in Kempen for further processing.
