Police in Kajang apprehended a tanker driver, suspected of falling asleep, following a deadly crash on the Plus highway.

Fatal Accident on Malaysia's Plus Highway Under Investigation

A tragic incident occurred yesterday on the Plus Highway in Malaysia, claiming the life of a 39-year-old electrical engineer. The accident, which took place at Kilometre 292.8, involved a collision between a tanker truck and a motorcycle.

The driver of the tanker truck is currently on remand, following his arrest in the Kajang area. Reports suggest that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the accident. The suspect, a 27-year-old individual, has been remanded for a period of three days, starting today.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tanker truck, however, tested negative for drugs.

A dashboard camera recording of the accident has gone viral, showing the motorcycle travelling in the emergency lane before being struck by the tanker truck. The recording has sparked public outrage and concern, leading to calls for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

The public is urged to contact the nearest police station or Kajang Police Headquarters Traffic Investigation Officer, Insp. Ahmad Zahrein Muhd Suod at 017-3818422 with any information they may have.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Despite extensive searches, the name of the traffic police officer leading the investigation has not been made public.
