Police in Kamchatka apprehended an intoxicated motorist

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on March 4, a traffic accident occurred on Prospect Cyolkovsky, as reported by Kamchatka-Info. The incident involved a "Nissan Ad" car and a "Nissan Bluebird."

According to the traffic police's report, the driver of the "Nissan Ad" car lost control, leading to the collision. The driver, a 56-year-old man, showed clear signs of alcohol intoxication and was found to have a blood alcohol level almost seven times the permitted level.

Remarkably, despite these circumstances, no injuries were reported in the accident. The driver was, however, detained by traffic police officers and sent to the regional narcological dispensary for further checks.

This is not the first time the driver has faced such charges. Previously, he had lost his driver's license due to driving under the influence of alcohol. In light of this new incident, a new protocol was issued for the driver for driving on the wrong side of the road, and the possibility of initiating a criminal case for repeated driving under the influence is being considered.

The driving ban period may be extended due to the new protocol. The fine for driving on the wrong side of the road could be 7,500 rubles. The driver's condition was confirmed at the dispensary.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and adhering to traffic rules, especially when it comes to alcohol consumption. It is crucial that drivers prioritise the safety of themselves and others on the road.
