Police-led Pedelec Training Exclusive for Women: Women's Day of Instruction for Electric Bikes

The Gelsenkirchen Police have announced a new e-bike safety training programme, aimed at enhancing the safety and routine of e-bike riders, particularly those aged 60 and above.

The training will take place at the Youth Traffic School, Lohmühlenstraße, Gelsenkirchen-Buer, and will be held on four dates in the autumn, with an additional exclusive session for women on 4 November 2025.

Each session will run from 1 to 4 pm, and participants are advised to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. It is important to note that the training will continue even in light rain.

Before starting, our experts will perform a short check-up of the two-wheelers. Helmets are mandatory at the e-bike trainings, and participants must bring their own e-bike.

The course content for the women-only training on 4 November 2025 will be determined by the participants. Practical exercises will be conducted, including safe mounting, proper braking, addressing typical everyday problems like cornering and loose surfaces, and performing a shoulder check when turning left.

Participation in the training is at the rider's own risk. Registrations should be sent exclusively by email to [email protected]. For inquiries from journalists, contact Merle Trippelsdorf at +49 (0) 209 365-2011 or [email protected].

It is important to note that there is no guarantee of a place in the training, as registrations will be given careful consideration, especially for the first registrations.

For more information, visit the Gelsenkirchen Police website at https://gelsenkirchen.polizei.nrw/. The police force is committed to ensuring the safety of all road users, and this e-bike training is just one of the ways they are working towards this goal.
