In a significant development, the police in Davao City have apprehended several suspects involved in a cable vandalism incident that took place on August 29, 2025.
The incident occurred during a patrol by police officers PLT Rizalde B. Suaga, PSMS Restito Rodriguez, and PCPL Jayvee Ragual. They were en route to Relief Bridge to set up a checkpoint when they stumbled upon a group of men tampering with an underground cable from a PLDT manhole located at Aplaya Road, Corner Sunrise Village, Barangay Matina Crossing, Davao City.
Upon approaching, the suspects were apprehended, and four pieces of cut underground cable, each measuring 2.5 meters, along with some tools used in the crime, were recovered. The suspects, who hail from Lantaw Bukid, Los Amigos, Tugbok District, Davao City, and another location in Sitio Sto. Tomas, Digos City, Davao del Sur, were taken into custody.
