Police pursuit ends with intoxicated motorist evading officers
In an incident that took place early this morning, a 26-year-old driver found herself in hot water after a series of questionable actions on the A33 highway.
At 02:30 AM, highway patrol officers from Stukenbrock station spotted a suspicious Audi A3, which was swerving slightly, braking without cause, and forcing a motorhome to change lanes. The officers activated their "Follow me" signal, but the Audi driver ignored it and overtook the patrol car at high speed, estimated to be around 200 km/h.
The pursuit continued until the Audi driver pulled onto the left lane and suddenly veered right to exit at the Stukenbrock-Senne junction, colliding with the guardrail. The impounded Audi was found at Mittweg in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock.
Suspicions arose that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol. A blood sample was taken by a doctor at the Stukenbrock highway police station and is currently under analysis. The driver has been temporarily prohibited from driving any vehicle requiring a license.
The driver is now facing charges for hit-and-run, illegal street racing, drunk driving, and coercion on the road. The total damage was estimated at around 6600 euros.

The car will remain impounded until the conclusion of the legal proceedings. The driver and her passenger were unharmed in the incident.
