Police pursuit of Unna results in collision on roadway

In a series of unexpected events, a high-speed pursuit took place on the B1 highway from Holzwickede towards Unna on August 26, 2025. The events unfolded when a 30-year-old German national, with no fixed address, was driving a car that had previously had its license plates stolen.

According to the Circular Police Authority Unna, the driver was under the influence of intoxicants and did not possess a valid driver's license. The driver disregarded several red lights and exceeded the speed limit, leading to a dangerous and chaotic pursuit.

During the pursuit, the driver rammed several patrol cars and an innocent bystander's car, causing significant damage. The accidents resulted in two patrol cars and the fleeing car sustaining extensive damage, and another innocent bystander's car also being affected.

The vehicle finally came to a stop at the corner of Ahornstraße and Eichenstraße. Both occupants of the car were arrested at the scene. Fortunately, despite the chaos, only two police officers were lightly injured but remained fit for duty.

The driver also had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. The information in this article was transmitted by the Circular Police Authority Unna via news aktuell.
