Police Vocational School: Welcome of Fresh Recruits in Hagen, Training Division

The Hagen Police are gearing up for an exciting new academic year, welcoming 58 students to the Police Upper Secondary School in Hagen. This year marks the fourth year of the innovative educational pathway known as the "FOS" (Fachoberschule), which provides a new route into the police service for individuals with an intermediate school leaving certificate.

A total of 58 students, aged between 14 and 30, have secured a place in the FOS program, offered at two of the 19 vocational schools in the region. The collaboration between the Hagen Police and vocational schools in Bochum and Halver, as well as police authorities in Bochum, Märkischer Kreis, Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, Olpe, and Siegen, aims to set students on the path to a career in the NRW police force.

This inter-authority cooperation provides students with practical content in the daily operations of the various cooperating authorities. The Hagen Police are committed to the success of their "FOS'lers" as they embark on their 110 start.

The Hagen Police have a strong online presence, with a homepage (https://hagen.polizei.nrw), Twitter account (https://twitter.com/polizei_nrw_ha), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Polizei.NRW.HA), and Instagram account (http://www.instagram.de/polizei.nrw.ha). They also have a WhatsApp channel (https://url.nrw/WhatsAppPolizeiNRWHagen) for those who prefer instant updates. Upon graduation, students will have a full university entrance qualification and a guaranteed place at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration NRW. Some students are continuing their education after completing the 10th grade, while others are returning after years in the workforce.

As of June 2025, 3645 people had applied for the FOS class of 2025, demonstrating the growing interest in this unique program. The Hagen Police host the welcoming event for the new students, marking the beginning of another successful year for the FOS program.
