Bungoma Governor Announces Cabinet Reshuffle for Enhanced Service Delivery

Bungoma County Governor, Kenneth Lusaka, has announced a reorganisation of his cabinet in a bid to boost efficiency in service delivery. In a recent statement, the governor emphasised the importance of public jobs serving the people, not for personal or political gain.

George Kombo, the former Chief Officer for Lands and Physical Planning, has been moved to head the Education docket. His replacement in the Lands department is Dr. Monicah Fedha, who was previously appointed to the position. Simultaneously, Douglas Sasita has been transferred from the CECM for Lands and Urban Planning to the Department of Trade, Energy, and Industrialisation. Sam Nalwa has been moved from the Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training to Lands and Urban Planning.

The governor's decision to reshuffle his cabinet is part of a broader strategy to realign roles and strengthen service delivery across departments. Lusaka stated, "Early campaigns by public workers undermine service delivery." He further vowed to sack any officer found engaging in early politics.

The governor's recent reshuffle comes amidst growing interest in the Bungoma County seat. Several bigwigs, including Kimilili MP Didmas Barasa, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, former Bungoma governor Wycliffee Wangamati, and businessman Zachariah Barasa, have declared their interest to succeed Lusaka. However, the governor has yet to announce his support for a specific candidate.

Lusaka urged those in positions of responsibility to work diligently to ensure the delivery of the administration's pledges to the people. He emphasised that his administration is committed to serving the people of Bungoma County and improving service delivery. The governor did not provide any details about his plans for the county after his term ends in 2027.

The governor's statement did not mention any opposition to his actions or decisions, or any criticism of his administration. The article does not provide any information about the governor's personal or political background. Lusaka, serving his second and last term in office, has given public officers a one-week ultimatum to stop premature political campaigns or face dismissal.
