Preparatory demonstration for the A80 procession in full regalia
On August 30, 2025, the final full-scale rehearsal for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (A80) took place at Ba Đình Square and central streets of Hà Nội. The event, which marked a significant milestone in Vietnam's history, was attended by thousands of people and various military units, including the air force.
The morning began with a flag-raising ceremony at Ba Đình Square at 6.30am, followed by a parade that included a traditional torch procession. The rehearsal parade was a meticulously planned event, with units rehearsing beforehand to ensure a smooth and flawless execution.
The parade featured a formation of Su-30MK2 fighter jets of the Air Force performing in the skies over Hà Nội, adding a thrilling spectacle to the event. Moreover, a formation of Air Force helicopters carried the Party flag and the national flag in the parade, symbolising the unity and strength of the nation.
A notable participant in the event was Nguyễn Văn Cần, an 87-year-old from Giáp Bát Ward, Hà Nội, who carried the portrait of President Hồ Chí Minh during the A80 rehearsal event. His presence served as a poignant reminder of the nation's founding father and the ideals he stood for.
In addition to the air force, army units also marched past the Cửa Nam area, demonstrating the collective might and determination of the Vietnamese armed forces. Tens of thousands of people gathered around Ba Đình Square and on Tràng Tiền Street to watch the rehearsal, their faces filled with pride and anticipation.
The Prime Minister, Phạm Minh Chính, and other Party and State leaders were present on the grandstand, overseeing the rehearsal and offering their support to the participants. The A80 rehearsal was a testament to the meticulous planning and dedication of the organisers, and a promising indication of the success of the official event.
