Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Visits Flood-Affected Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Field Marshal Asim Munir, recently visited the flood-affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The delegation included several ministers and PML-N leaders, such as Federal Minister Amir Muqam, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Engr Faizullah Khan, Barrister Attaullah Khan, Barrister Zaidullah Khan, Malik Nauman Khan, Javed Iqbal, and Yusuf Khan.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the local issues and gain a better understanding of the scale of destruction and ongoing operations in the flood-hit areas. The delegation was briefed on the situation, and Field Marshal Munir lauded the efforts of the army, police, and civil administration personnel.

The visit included tours of Swat, Buner, Shangla, and Swabi, as well as an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Buner and Shangla. During the visit, Field Marshal Munir met personnel engaged in relief work and expressed his appreciation for their efforts.

The Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the victims and assured them of all possible assistance. He vowed strict action against those obstructing natural waterways and illegal encroachments, as well as against the timber mafia. The Prime Minister also directed authorities to ensure the timely delivery of aid and to accelerate relief operations.

Field Marshal Munir stressed that protecting citizens and providing relief remain the military's foremost priority. The Prime Minister reiterated the government's resolve to tackle the root causes of flooding. He also stated that all resources are being deployed for the relief task.

The Prime Minister joined participants in offering prayers for those who lost their lives during the floods. He also emphasised that no one is above the law, and that everyone should work together to rebuild the affected areas and restore normalcy to the lives of the people.
