Radio 4 Kicks Off a Brilliant New Season on September 8

Radio 4, the Catalan sister of Spain's national radio, is gearing up for an ambitious new season, starting on Monday, September 8. The station, known for its diverse programming and commitment to quality, has announced a host of new shows and returning favourites.

Sílvia Tarragona, who has been directing and presenting the late-night reflective program 'De nit', will host yesterday's presentation and also present the new program "El Pla B". Esteve Crespo, highlighting Radio 4's global vision within its 50th anniversary, emphasized the efforts to strengthen the station.

One of the season's novelties is 'Good Morning and Good Luck', a new daily wake-up call directed and presented by Vador Llado. Another addition is 'The Morning of Radio 4', a current affairs magazine with in-depth interviews, roundtables, contests, news, and contents of interest.

In the realm of culture and sports, Marc Margarit leads 'Són 4 dies' on weekends from 9h to 12h, with a focus on culture and sports. Meanwhile, Joan Arenyes hosts "Catalunya Exprés Magazine", a showcase for Catalan music. Marga Lluch continues to interview the most prominent personalities in the world of sport in 'Més que esports'.

For those interested in technology, Cinto Niqui leads 'L'altra ràdio', a program focusing on technology, radio, television, internet, applications, and artificial intelligence. 'Va de cine' is a program dedicated to cinema, while 'Xavifòrnia' will continue to be a vibrant and personality-packed proposal with interviews, current affairs, music, and viral contents.

In the political sphere, Toni Martín hosts 'El Pla B', an evening political debate and analysis of current affairs. Xavi Martínez, who continues at the helm of 'Xavifòrnia', will have a change in schedule. Quim Esteban hosts 'Plurals i singulars', a space to talk about equality and vindicate LGTBI collectives. Elena García hosts 'Faristols' on Saturdays, a program reviewing the political reality of the Catalan Parliament.

Radio 4's commitment to news is evident with the strengthening of its news services this season. There will be 20 hours of radio without repetition, of which 18 are live. A new midday news bulletin, 'Edició Migdia', at 2:30 PM, edited and presented by Eva Albiol, is one such addition.

Manel Domínguez directs 'Sentit de viure', proposing a new intergenerational consciousness on longevity. Consol Sáenz returns with "Territori clandestí", a program dedicated to alternative, underground, and critical cultures. Isabel Díaz leads 'Sense memòria', a program that reviews the history of humanity.

In the realm of classical music, Marga Lluch and Pep Gorgori keep the pulse of classical music made in Catalunya with "L'hora clàssica". Olga Rodríguez continues 'Món possible' for another season in podcast format. 'Llibres, píxels i valors' is a program dedicated to books, pixels, and values.

Lastly, 'L'Entrellat' is a pause for reflection in the afternoon, while 'Xavifòrnia' will continue to be a vibrant and personality-packed proposal with interviews, current affairs, music, and viral contents. Mohamed El Amrani hosts 'D'on ets tu?', a program that breaks stereotypes and opens spaces for reflection on migration, hybrid identities, inequalities, and coexistence.

Roberto Santamaría, director of RNE, emphasized the efforts to strengthen Radio 4, and Pere Buhigas, director of Radio 4, thanked efforts for a "brilliant season" and described the new programming as ambitious.
