Progressive Developments in the Hamburg Metropolitan Area: A Preview of 2023's Advancements

The Regional Conference 2023, taking a three-year break, is set to return on the 19th of January 2023, at the Hamburg Town Hall. This year's theme is the mobility transition in the coming year, with the motto "What moves us".

The conference will be an opportunity to discuss innovative mobility concepts and focus on sustainable, innovative, and efficient transport solutions in the Metropol Region Hamburg. With around half a million commuters from four federal states regularly moving through the region, the need for forward-thinking mobility solutions is more critical than ever.

One of the key topics of discussion will be the trend in mobility in Hamburg, which is moving towards cycling. The expansion of cycling traffic will be a particular focus of the conference, with the federal government supporting the Hamburg-Lüneburg cycle rapid way with a substantial investment of 9 million euros.

The conference will also mark the premiere of the hydrogen train in the Metropol Region Hamburg. This eco-friendly mode of transport is set to play a significant role in the region's mobility transition.

The Metropol Region Hamburg is home to four real labs for the mobility transition, making it an ideal location to discuss and implement innovative mobility concepts. The construction of a cycle rapid network is an important approach being discussed, as cycling traffic is on the rise in the city.

Admission to the conference is free, and registration is possible online until the 24th of December 2022. The conference will take place from 10 am to 4:30 pm and is open to the interested public.

Whether you're a commuting professional, an environmentalist, or simply someone interested in the future of mobility, this conference promises to be an informative and engaging event. Join us on the 19th of January 2023, as we explore what moves us and shape the future of mobility in the Metropol Region Hamburg.
