Prolonged availability of outdoor swimming: Homberg to remain open until 21st of September
Homberg's outdoor pool has seen a surge in visitors this year, with around 8,000 more people enjoying a dip compared to the same period last year. This increased interest has led to an extension of the pool's operation until September 21.
The extension was announced by DuisburgSport, who cited late summer temperatures and continued interest as the reasons for the decision. Initially, the outdoor pool season was scheduled to end on September 5, but the extension means that swimming enthusiasts have an additional 11 days to enjoy the water.
From June 26, the pool was open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, but from September 6, the opening times will change to 12 pm to 6 pm daily. The extended season will end with a special dog swimming event on September 27 and 28.
