PSG reinforces their left flank with Sindre Heldal's arrival
Norwegian Talent Sindre Heldal to Join Paris Saint-Germain Handball
Paris Saint-Germain Handball has announced the signing of Norwegian player Sindre Heldal, who will join the team from the 2025-2026 season. The 26-year-old, who currently plays for Elverum Handball in Norway, brings a wealth of experience to the French club.
Heldal has a rich history of playing for various clubs in the Nordic region and has demonstrated his solid European experience by scoring over 120 goals on the continental stage. His addition to Paris Saint-Germain Handball will provide the team with a new scoring threat on the European continental stage.
The signing comes at a crucial time for Paris Saint-Germain Handball, who have been in need of a specialist left wing since Emil Mellegard tore his cruciate ligaments. Mellegard's injury occurred during a pre-season tour in Japan, ahead of the Champions Trophy match against Montpellier.
In the meantime, Wallem Peleka, a left back by trade, has often filled in at the left wing position to cover for absences at Paris Saint-Germain Handball. However, with Heldal's arrival, the team can now rely on a dedicated left wing player.
The coach newly hired to strengthen PSG Handball for the 2025-2026 season, following Heldal's engagement, is Stefan Madsen. He takes over after Raul Gonzalez and comes from Al Ahly Cairo, with Henrik Möllgaard as co-trainer.
Mathieu Grébille, the only specialist left wing for Paris Saint-Germain Handball, was absent for the league's restart against Dunkerque. It remains to be seen if Grébille will return to the team or if Heldal will take over his position.
Heldal's signing is a significant move for Paris Saint-Germain Handball, as they aim to regain their dominance in European handball. With Heldal's experience and scoring ability, the team is well-positioned to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season.
