Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences Celebrates 50th Anniversary during SAiL 2025

Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is celebrating a significant milestone this year as it marks its 50th anniversary. The university, known as the "University by the Sea," is hosting a series of events as part of the SAiL 2025 celebrations.

With over 20 practical and innovative study programs catering to around 3,000 students, the university has been a beacon of education in the region. The university's website, www.hs-bremerhaven.de/jubilee, offers photos and further information about the anniversary year.

The celebrations kicked off on Thursday with "City Campus meets SAiL," which included open-air lectures and campus tours. On Friday, international students showcased their cultures at "University international – celebrating diverse cultures." This event was organized by students Shirin Hasan and Omar Faroque, with the support of Gudrun Zimmermann, head of the Centre for Equal Opportunities and Diversity.

The musical program started in the afternoon, with local DJs warming up the crowd before RAUM27's performance. The band, known for its wide popularity, is a group of individuals who met during their school days in Bremerhaven. The highlight of the day was the performance of the "SchlickSticks" samba drum group.

Several thousand visitors gathered on the Theodor-Heuss-Platz to witness these events. Fans secured the best spots in front of the stage in the morning, eagerly awaiting the performances.

These celebrations highlight the university's numerous research activities, which have been awarded multiple times and support sustainable developments in the region and beyond. The university's programs also benefit from close cooperation with the regional economy and modern teaching and learning methods.

The SAiL 2025 event includes three diverse days of celebrations, with the anniversary party being the culmination. The university invites everyone to join in the festivities and get to know the "University by the Sea" better during this event. For more information, visit www.hs-bremerhaven.de/jubilee.
