Pumpkin show commences with verified plan in pursuit of record-breaking achievement
Get ready for a dazzling display of pumpkin-themed fun as the annual Pumpkin Exhibition returns to Blühenden Barock in Ludwigsburg. The event, which begins on Saturday, August 25th, and runs until November 2nd, promises to be bigger and better than ever.
This year's exhibition, themed "Big Cinema," will see the integration of the exhibition into the "Leuchtenden Traumpfade" from October 24th. Visitors can expect to see 15 figures from film and television, including Iron Man, Lucky Luke, Harry Potter, Superman, and Jedi Master Yoda, spread throughout the lower east garden and the Magdalenengarten.
The highlight of the event will be the cooking of Germany's largest pumpkin soup on late September. The Pumpkin Regatta, a much-anticipated event, will take place on September 20th and 21st.
Two new pumpkin varieties, including the "Yellow Jacket," will be used in the exhibition. The gastronomic offerings are as exciting as the visual spectacle, with traditional favourites such as pumpkin soup, pumpkin cheese spaetzle, and pumpkin maultaschen, as well as new items like popcorn with pumpkin glaze and pumpkin nachos with pumpkin dip. A new drink, pumpkin spritz, is also available this year.
Visitors can interact with some of the figures, such as standing in King Kong's giant paw and sitting in a car being chased by a T-Rex from "Jurassic Park." A new event for visitors to dress up is also planned.
The farm and souvenir shop are open from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, with the pumpkin sale running from the same hours. The exhibition runs from 9 am to 8:30 pm, with gastronomy available from 10:30 am to 5 pm.
The entrance fee remains the same, with online tickets costing 13 euros during the week and 14 euros on weekends. Arrival is recommended by public transport, with limited parking available on weekends.
The organizer of the pumpkin exhibition is the Jucker Farm AG from Switzerland, the same team that brought the exhibition to Ludwigsburg. Volker Kugel, who first introduced the pumpkin exhibition to Ludwigsburg, continues to be a driving force behind the event.
The German and European pumpkin weighing championships will occur on October 5th and October 12th, respectively. The exhibition will end on November 2nd with the big pumpkin slaughter festival. For more information and tickets, visit the official website of Blühenden Barock.
