Quebec Travel Journals: Insights on Mobile Learning

After three months of travel, the Mobile Education tour of Quebec, supported by Waves of Change and Plug'n Drive, has come to an end. The tour, which spanned over 1,200 km and visited 21 communities, reached a total of 9,791 people.

The team, which specialises in marine-focused education, visited schools in the Montreal region, including Verdun, Anjou, and Pierrefonds, inspiring students with their unique approach to learning. They also captivated both children and adults at the Eureka Festival, the largest scientific event in Quebec.

In Tadoussac, the team collaborated with Du Fleuve, a family-owned, environmentally conscious whale watching company, and Explos Nature, a local marine conservation organization, to share learning about whales and the Saint Lawrence ecosystem. They also participated in the Festival Innu Nikamu, an intergenerational cultural exchange event, where they shared marine-related artifacts and inspired visitors to share their own personal stories about the ocean.

The team's Sea Dome, an accessible underwater experience, was brought to Centre Champagnat in Montreal, a community center that provides adapted services for students with reduced mobility. The team offered adapted programming catered to all ages and abilities, making the underwater experience fun and inclusive.

The tour also included a visit to Centre William-Hingston, a French-language learning center for adults, where the team blended language learning with a focus on marine life.

The Mobile Education team's tour of Quebec with Waves of Change has been a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the communities they visited. The project received financial support from the Government of Canada, demonstrating the importance of promoting education and conservation efforts.

As the tour comes to a close, the team can look back on a journey filled with learning, inspiration, and connection. The Mobile Education tour of Quebec has not only educated thousands of people about the importance of our oceans but also inspired countless stories about personal connections to the water.

Stay tuned for future adventures from the Mobile Education team as they continue to inspire and educate people about our oceans and the creatures that call them home.
