questioned if football player Darren Waller of the Dolphins will be prepared for the first week of the season, following his recent decisions to emerge from his retirement.
Miami Dolphins Preparing for Season with Key Players on the Mend
Darren Waller, the former New York Giants tight end who retired from the NFL due to a health scare last year, is set to make a comeback with the Miami Dolphins. Waller, who had a Pro Bowl appearance and two 1,000-yard seasons during his time in Las Vegas, was signed by the Dolphins this offseason and is reportedly ready for one more shot in the league.
However, there are concerns about how ready Waller will be after his extended break. Preparing for an NFL season takes a lot of work, and Waller last played in the league in 2023. But recent reports suggest that he will be ready in time for Week 1.
Meanwhile, Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane is also on the mend. Achane suffered a calf injury three weeks ago and has not played since. But he is set to practice today for the first time since his injury, and if he has no setbacks, he will play Sunday against the Colts, according to Cameron Wolfe. Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins' head coach, said that Achane is expected to be ready for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts and that all signs indicate Achane will be available in Week 1.
Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins' star wide receiver, is also on track to play. Hill has been dealing with an oblique injury, but he is expected to be ready for Week 1 as well, according to Cameron Wolfe.
With Waller, Achane, and Hill all on track to play, the Dolphins are looking strong heading into the new season. The team brought Waller back from retirement to bolster their offensive capabilities, and his return, along with the return of Achane and the continued health of Hill, could make for an exciting season in Miami.
