iRacing, a leading name in the world of sim racing, has entered into a technical partnership with Cosworth. This partnership promises to revolutionise the sim racing experience for iRacing members.

Cosworth, renowned for providing telemetry tools to professional racing teams, will seamlessly integrate its tools within iRacing's ecosystem. This integration will enable iRacers to compare their sim analytics against actual race car data, bridging the gap between virtual and real-world racing.

The upcoming version of Cosworth's Pi Toolbox software will be capable of reading ".IBT" data files generated by iRacing's simulator. This feature will provide a more comprehensive analysis of a racer's performance, aiding in the continuous improvement of their skills.

To make the software more accessible, custom, pre-built workbooks within Pi Toolbox will be geared towards iRacing and first-time users. This move is aimed at making the transition smoother for those new to using Pi Toolbox.

One of the most exciting features of this partnership is live remote telemetry. This will allow spotters and teammates to follow a racer's data mid-session and offer feedback over comms in real-time, enhancing the competitive spirit and teamwork in iRacing.

iRacing members will have free access to Cosworth's Pi Toolbox software, starting September 16. The partnership also extends to the highest levels of motorsport, including F1, reflecting the serious nature of sim racing for competitive racers and those who practice outside the car.

The partnership between iRacing and Cosworth approaches technical partnerships from a functional standpoint, focusing on providing a more capable and efficient platform for sim racing enthusiasts. The partnership will also result in Cosworth sponsorship across all iRacing Studios games, further strengthening the association.

Sim racing is a serious activity for competitive racers and those who practice outside the car. This partnership is set to elevate the sim racing experience, bringing it closer to the real-world racing experience, making it more engaging and competitive.
