The Churchill Edition, a unique variant of the Works Bespoke V8 Defenders, has made its mark as a tribute to the legendary Sir Winston Churchill. This exclusive model, inspired by Churchill's personal Land Rover Series I from 1954, is a limited edition of ten Classic Defender V8s.

The Churchill Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, the same powertrain that officially returned in the Defender Works V8 in 2018. This engine delivers a peak power of 405 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 515 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The vehicle is available as a 90 Station Wagon, 110 Station Wagon, and 90 Soft Top. The Soft Top variant features a bespoke canvas roof modeled after the last classic Defender from 2016. The roof can be rolled up and secured when needed, ensuring convenience for the driver even in various weather conditions.

The Churchill Edition retains the layout of the last series-produced Defenders in its cockpit, with distinctive color-contrasted details and premium "Bridge of Weir" leather. The interior also includes a special clock with a blue dial and red stripe, adding a touch of elegance to the vehicle.

The exterior design of the Churchill Edition includes a galvanized front bumper and a metal mesh grille. The body of the vehicle is painted in a special bronze green color, matching the original vehicle, "UKE 80". The 16-inch steel wheels are painted in the same bronze green color, enhancing the overall aesthetic.

The chassis has been modernized with special Eibach springs, Bilstein dampers, optimized stabilizers front and rear, a newly designed ball-bearing steering system, power assistance, and a powerful Alcon braking system. These improvements ensure a smooth ride and superior handling, making the Churchill Edition a joy to drive.

The Churchill Edition also features all-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer box, and strengthened differentials front and rear. A central Torsen differential is included, providing excellent traction and stability on various terrains.

The vehicle is equipped with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, handling power delivery smoothly and efficiently. The interior features a Classic Infotainment System offering modern functions such as navigation, DAB radio, and Bluetooth, ensuring a comfortable and connected driving experience.

The history of V8 engines in the Land Rover Defender dates back to the Series III Stage 1 V8 of 1979. After Sir Winston Churchill's death in 1965, his Land Rover Series I "UKE 80" remained at his estate, Chartwell, and was eventually sold in 2013 to its current Swiss owner. It is now housed at the Emil Frey Classics Museum in Switzerland.

The Churchill Edition features "UKE 80" decals on the front wings and bespoke badges at the rear, serving as a reminder of the vehicle's rich history and connection to Sir Winston Churchill. This limited-edition model is a testament to the enduring legacy of one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century and the iconic Land Rover Defender.
