Rainy and stormy weather predicted for the upcoming week's onset
Changeable Weather Kicks Off New Week in Germany
The new week in Germany is starting out with a mix of showers, thunderstorms, and less sunshine, according to meteorologist Magdalena Bertelmann from the German Weather Service (DWD).
Temperatures will vary across the country. The Lüneburg Heath to the Erzgebirge foothills can expect temperatures to rise to 21 to 26 degrees, with the highest values in the south of Germany, where temperatures will reach up to 24 degrees. However, in the western half of Germany, many places will not reach the 20-degree mark.
North Rhine-Westphalia could be a focus area, with temperatures ranging from 17 to 21 degrees. In the eastern part of Germany, the weather will be sunny with temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees on Tuesday.
Rain is expected to continue into Tuesday, as per the meteorologist's forecast. Some places, particularly from the Eifel to the Upper Rhine Low, are at risk of heavy rain, according to DWD.
In the western half of Germany, clouds, rain, and occasional heavy thunderstorms will dominate throughout the week. On Tuesday, some people in the south of Germany and the east can rejoice over well-filled rain barrels.
However, from Wednesday until the following weekend, there will be rain on and off, but not everyone will get wet, as per the meteorologist. On Wednesday, the south of Germany and the east will experience rain, while the western and northwestern parts remain mostly dry. Isolated thunderstorms are possible along the coast.
Temperatures will drop during the night into Wednesday, with values ranging from 13 to 6 degrees. Despite the cooler temperatures, especially in the east, the German Weather Service predicts more pleasant weather at the start of the week on Monday.
As the week progresses, showery rain is expected in various regions on Thursday, with partly stronger cloudiness. The western and northwestern parts will remain mostly dry, while the south experiences some rain moving northeastwards.
