Rainy and stormy weather predicted for the upcoming week's onset

The new week in Germany is set to start with a mix of showers, thunderstorms, and less sunshine, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

On Monday, the east and Erzgebirge region can expect a less capricious weather with sunshine and temperatures ranging from 21 to 25 degrees. However, in the western half of Germany, clouds, rain, and individual heavy thunderstorms will dominate.

As per the prediction by Magdalena Bertelmann at DWD, rain will continue into Tuesday. Particularly from the Eifel to the Upper Rhine Low, there is a risk of heavy rain on Tuesday. A focus for heavy rain on Tuesday could be North Rhine-Westphalia, according to meteorologist Magdalena Bertelmann.

However, the exact location of the largest rainfall amounts on Tuesday is still uncertain. In the east, temperatures will rise to 21 to 26 degrees, with the highest values from the Lüneburg Heath to the Erzgebirge foothills. In the south of Germany, temperatures on Thursday will range between 17 degrees south of the Danube, while it will be 24 degrees at the Neiße.

On the night of Thursday, the south of Germany and then the east will experience rain, potentially filling rain barrels for some residents. The exact location of the rain on the night of Thursday in the east is uncertain.

In the western half of Germany, it will remain heavily clouded and stormy into the night on Tuesday. On the night of Wednesday, rain in the west will gradually decrease, but the cloud cover will remain, with temperatures dropping to 13 to 6 degrees.

On Thursday evening and Friday, rain is expected mainly in northern Germany, especially along the coastal regions, the middle mountain ranges, and areas north of a line roughly between Cologne and Dresden. The south is expected to be mostly sunny or dry.

The motto for the following weekend is "There will be rain on and off, but not everyone will get wet." The lowest temperatures will be 15 to 7 degrees.

The German Weather Service predicts friendlier weather at the start of the week on Monday in the east.
