Rapper Disarstar maintains a distanced stance from the Left Party
Rapper Disarstar Embraces Marxist Ideals, Yet Remains Non-Partisan
Gerrit Falius, better known by his stage name Disarstar, has made waves in the music world with his new album "Hamburger Aufstand," released last Friday. However, it's his political views that have sparked intrigue among his followers.
Disarstar identifies as a Marxist and follows a number of left-wing politicians on Instagram. Yet, he does not engage with the Left Party, despite his political awareness. Interestingly, some left-wing politicians also follow Disarstar on the platform.
One such politician is Heidi Reichinnek, the faction leader of the Left Party in Hamburg and a vocal figure in political discussions and campaigns. However, Reichinnek does not follow Disarstar on Instagram.
Disarstar's political stance is clear in his music. "Siamo Tutti," a song from his new album, is often described as an antifascist hymn and has been streamed over 6.7 million times on Spotify.
Despite his political leanings, Disarstar finds himself critical of the Left's voting results on the wealth tax and is wary of being harnessed to a party-political wagon. He sees himself as non-partisan, preferring democratic socialism over social democratic capitalism.
In an unexpected twist, Disarstar follows back Heidi Reichinnek within 30 seconds if she follows him. However, he finds some of the Left's Instagram posts to be great, but not the practice as a whole.
Reichinnek, a member of "Die Linke" (The Left) party, is active in Hamburg politics, notably involved in issues like public ownership and social justice. She is a key figure in political discussions and campaigns, including the Hamburg state election campaign.
In this complex political landscape, Disarstar's stance remains unique. While he aligns with some of the Left's ideals, he maintains a distance from the party, choosing instead to express his views through his music.
