According to festival director Matthias Helwig, the event will screen approximately 130 feature, documentary, and short films, most of them hailing from Central Europe. Many of these films will have their premieres, be exclusively shown in Bavaria, or be screened before their official theatrical release.

The opening film for the festival was initially announced as "Jane Austen", but has since been changed to "Jane Austen and the Chaos in My Life", a French comedy. This film tells the story of a bookstore owner and aspiring author who experiences a Jane Austen-worthy love story during her stay at the "Jane Austen Residency".
