Reality Television Personality Admitted to Hospital in a Wheelchair, Claims "My Body Had Other Plans"
Charlene Douglas, a well-known sex therapist and former star of the popular UK reality show, Married at First Sight UK (MAFSUK), has recently found herself in an unexpected situation. On Saturday, she was rushed to a hospital in London due to severe dehydration and exhaustion, just before participating in the Notting Hill Carnival.
Douglas made her debut on MAFSUK alongside Melanie Schilling and has since become known for her courageous and inquisitive approach, much like Schilling. Her hospitalisation has caused concern among her nearly 50,000 Instagram followers, who rushed to wish her well and offer their support.
In a video shared on her Instagram stories, Douglas can be seen being wheeled up a hospital corridor in a wheelchair. She captioned the post with a reference to her plans for the Notting Hill Carnival and her unexpected hospital visit. In another post, a photo showing a canula attached to her arm, she used the hashtags "#iron deficiency" and "#slow down", but did not elaborate on the cause of her hospital visit.
Despite the circumstances, Douglas managed to find humor in her hospitalisation, captioning an Instagram video with a comment about her hair looking good. The supportive comments from her followers poured in, with one writing "Oh no!!! Heal quick," another saying "Hope you recover quickly," and a third commenting "Sending strength and a full recovery."
In addition to her work on MAFSUK, Douglas has also appeared on E4's The Sex Clinic. Her website emphasises the importance of intimacy in a healthy life, stating that "Intimacy is a key part of a healthy life. Every hug, kiss, or touch triggers an emotional connection and strengthens relationships." Douglas works with couples to help them navigate their relationships and get to know their partners on a more intimate level.
Douglas's hospital visit remains a mystery, as she has not publicly disclosed the reason beyond the hashtags she used in her Instagram post. We hope for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing Douglas back in good health.
