Redesign of Balcony Layout for Arc at Wembley by Sapphire

Sapphire's Unified Metalwork Design Transforms Arc at Wembley

In the heart of north-west London, the latest stage of development at Wembley Park is taking shape. The 34-hectare development, with an investment of £2.8bn, is home to 8,400 homes, and the Arc at Wembley is no exception.

The Arc at Wembley, a part of this award-winning neighbourhood spanning 365 days, boasts a distinctive facade inspired by the 1970s residential buildings of the old Wembley Park. The company responsible for the balustrades and railings that adorn the Arc at Wembley is Sapphire, whose unified metalwork design has become a standout feature of the development.

Sapphire's design ensured consistency across all external metalwork, including balustrades, terrace railings, and podium-level details. The spokesperson from Sapphire explained that matching balcony metalwork with the facade is more than just an aesthetic choice; it elevates the entire look and feel of a building.

To meet safety standards without compromising visual appeal, the fascia design at Arc at Wembley was modified. Balcony fascia panels were designed to create a 'brick-like' look, ensuring a seamless match in design and finish with the brickwork of the facade and other building elements. Internal panels were also incorporated into the fascia design to meet NHBC constraints on climbability.

The logistics team at Sapphire was commended for their work by Nana Aboagye, Senior Site Manager at Housebuilder Hill Partnerships. Nana praised Sapphire particularly for their logistics team, highlighting their role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the project.

The design by Sapphire streamlined the metalwork to match other building elements, contributing to the unified look of the development. No element of the building exterior at Arc at Wembley feels out of place, reflecting successful urban design.

The work of Sapphire, as praised by Nana Aboagye, contributes to the unified look of the Wembley Park development. The latest stage of development at South West Lands SW01, 02 + 07 aims for a unified look across balustrades, railings, and facades, following in the footsteps of the Arc at Wembley.
