Hamm's Maximilianpark Receives Third Star from IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027
Redoubled Recognition
The Maximilianpark in Hamm, Germany, has been awarded the prestigious third star from the IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027. This recognition is a significant achievement for the park, marking it as one of the most innovative and visionary projects in the Ruhr metropolitan region.
The Maxi Garden, a key component of the Maximilianpark, was essentially an IGA star project from its inception. In August 2020, the Maxi Garden, along with the Maximilianpark, was one of 15 projects recognised for its innovative ideas and green visions.
Mayor Marc Herter expressed his delight at the recognition, stating that receiving the third star from the IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027 was a great honour for the Maxi Park. Jörg Rogalla, the Managing Director of the Maxi Park, shared similar sentiments, expressing his delight at the recognition of the Maxi Garden with the third star.
The Canal Quarter project, another significant initiative in Hamm, was also recognised. The project, which is based at the German Mining Museum, was one of 30 future projects recognised due to its visualised ideas and realised projects within the Metropole Ruhr. City Architect Andreas Mentz explained that the Canal Quarter Hamm was a project with model character for the entire Ruhr metropolitan region.
The Canal Quarter project was selected for its forward-thinking plans and initiatives in various areas. The expert panel that selected the prize for future projects of the Metropole Ruhr, known as the Expert Panel for the Zukunftsprojekte der Metropole Ruhr, praised the project for its innovative approach and commitment to sustainability.
