Regensburg county fosters integration via nursing and textile vocational training programs
In a bid to foster a comprehensive integration, Regensburg County has organised visits to Hemau and Schierling as part of its integration package. These visits, expertly organised by Educational Recruiter Mahinar Sweid and Economic Developer Roland Weiß, serve as an essential platform for companies to meet potential employees early on.
Eight migrants were guests at the Senior and Nursing Home and the Blind Institute Hemau, where they received information about possible training in care and support. The demand for skilled workers in the care sector is particularly high, making these visits all the more significant.
Jasmin Wagner, team leader of embroidery, presented career opportunities in the textile industry, highlighting the shortage of skilled workers and trainees in this sector. Four more migrants visited Fahnen Koessinger GmbH in Schierling, offering them a glimpse into the textile industry's prospects.
County Commissioner Tanja Schweiger emphasised the benefits of the training opportunities available in various industries, underlining the importance of such initiatives in addressing the skills gap. Several businesses from different sectors have already participated and concluded contracts with migrants, although the names of these companies remain undisclosed.
The integration package includes internships, job dating events, a job fair for foreign auxiliary workers, and 80-cent jobs for asylum seekers without work permits. Local representatives Christian Scheuerer and Davis Fries view this as an important opportunity to win new employees, addressing the pressing need for skilled workers in the region.
