Regional products to gain prominence through new association's efforts

In the heart of Bavaria, a new initiative is taking shape to promote the quality and diversity of regional products. The "Ganz Große Küche! Regional.Bio.Regensburg" project is set to provide new sales channels, particularly for smaller businesses and niche products.

The idea for this association has been in the works for some time, with ongoing projects providing impulses for its development. Previous workshops were held at Kuhstall café Illkofen and Haus Hermannsberg to discuss the need for an organizational form that represents the interests of the entire value chain, from production to gastronomy and consumers.

The association, which aims to strengthen regional structures in the Regensburg region, will be founded officially in autumn 2025. It will operate through a digital sales platform and targeted cooperation with regional gastronomy. The goal is to make high-quality and diverse regional products more visible to the public.

The association is designed to promote exchange along the value chain and will implement various measures, such as joint events, public relations, and new formats for presenting regional delicacies. Interested parties are welcome to join.

The Regensburg County Administration - Regional Management is the contact for inquiries, and registration for participation can be done at www.landkreis-regensburg.de/Regionalmanagement. Intensive work on structure, statutes, public relations, and financing will be done in August.

Two key figures in the initiation and development of the association are Doris Luttner and Anna Ramsauer. The association was founded at the Regensburg County Administration.

The association is also supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. Theme-specific working groups will be formed for this work. Further details about the association's structure, including an honorary board, will be revealed in due course.

The cooperation project "Dachmarke in the Region Regensburg" is being implemented from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2027. The exact initiator of the new association, aiming to better highlight the quality and diversity of regional products, is not specified in the provided context.

In essence, the "Ganz Große Küche! Regional.Bio.Regensburg" project is a step towards a more sustainable and locally-focused economy in the Regensburg region. By supporting local businesses and products, the association aims to contribute to the region's economic growth and cultural richness.
