In a recent statement, Spelinspektionen, the Swedish gambling watchdog, has taken action against three unlicensed operators: Liquid Entertainment NV, Rabocse SRL, and Solid Software Solutions. These companies were found to be operating without the necessary permissions in Sweden, making their online gambling platforms illegal under Swedish law.

The operators in question, Liquid Entertainment NV, the Curacao-based entity behind the popular gambling site duelbits.com, and Rabocse SRL, which operated a number of domains within Sweden including gxmble.io, palmscasino.io, seven7.casino, slottio.com, wildzy.io, winstler.co, and winzter.com, were discovered to have marketed their platforms to Swedish consumers via affiliate websites, content creators, and the video streaming platform Kick.

Spelinspektionen's inspection showed that advertising spaces in the Google search engine were used to promote duelbits.com to Swedish consumers. The regulator also found evidence that duelbits.com used Swedish-language marketing and explanatory materials to make its offer easier to navigate for Swedish users.

Interestingly, some offshore operators have criticized national regulators for using VPN abuse to determine the legitimacy of a platform. However, Spelinspektionen has reiterated that the onus is on individual operators and gambling sites to ensure that their products are not available to players in Sweden.

Game developers may risk losing their local licenses if their games are featured on unregulated websites that target Sweden. At this time, Spelinspektionen has not specified any penalties or actions taken against duelbits.com or the other operators named in the investigation.

Affiliate websites and content creators were involved in marketing duelbits.com to Swedish consumers, and the video streaming platform Kick was used to promote the site. However, the companies suspected of operating unauthorized online gambling marketed via Kick in Sweden have not been explicitly named in the provided search results.

It is important to note that none of the mentioned websites held a license from Spelinspektionen, making them illegal under Swedish law. As the online gambling industry continues to evolve, it is crucial for operators to comply with local regulations to ensure the safety and fairness of their services for consumers.
