Heidi Reichinnek, a 37-year-old member of the Bundestag for the Left party, hails from Saxony-Anhalt and identifies as an "Ossi," a term for someone from East Germany. Born and raised in the former German Democratic Republic (DDR), Reichinnek's upbringing has significantly influenced her political views and personal life.

Reichinnek, who currently resides in Osnabrück, is known for her unique collection of tattoos. Among them are an otter, a cat, and an image of Rosa Luxemburg on her left arm, as well as a hyena, a beautiful animal she admires. Her tattoos, which she often covers up in daily life, have become something of a trademark for the politician.

In an interview with "Stern," Reichinnek shared her plans to get a stack of books tattooed on her skin, further showcasing her love for reading. This decision, however, meets with mixed feelings from her parents, who still live in Saxony-Anhalt. Despite their initial reservations, they share many of the Left's demands but do not wish to see a return of the DDR.

Reichinnek's parents were supportive of the Left party but acknowledged that the DDR did not work. They were not members of the SED but were involved in the church. Their influence on Reichinnek's political beliefs and views on socialism is evident in her work as a Bundestag member.

The news about Reichinnek's life and political career has been reported by dpa, except for her interview with "Bunte" where she spoke about her love for reading and her plans for more tattoos. Reichinnek entered the Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list of the Left party and continues to be a prominent figure in German politics.

Despite the controversy surrounding her tattoos, Reichinnek remains unapologetic, viewing them as a form of self-expression. Her unique approach to politics and personal life has earned her a distinctive place in German politics.
