Renewable energy technology and software collection, named Ovation Green, introduced by Emerson
Bob Yeager, president of Emerson's power and water solutions business, has announced the launch of the Ovation Green portfolio - a dedicated renewable power technology and software portfolio designed to provide simplified automation for the emerging clean energy market.
The Ovation Green portfolio is a response to the growing focus on transitioning to a clean energy economy, with countries around the globe aiming to make the shift in the coming decades. Renewable electricity capacity has seen record growth in recent years, and various renewable energy sources, including wind turbines, solar arrays, lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen electrolyzers, hydroelectric power, and more, all rely on a wide variety of automation software and technologies.
Emerson's Ovation Green portfolio aims to help power generation companies transition to green energy generation and storage, while increasing availability and production and reducing operations and maintenance costs. The portfolio empowers actionable intelligence from a unified platform, driving faster, more informed decisions.
One of the key technologies within the Ovation Green portfolio is the Ovation AI-enabled Virtual Advisor, which is designed to enhance the management of critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. This innovative technology, for which Yeager has been noted for his involvement, is expected to play a significant role in the portfolio's success.
In addition to the Ovation Green portfolio, Emerson recently acquired Mita-Teknik, adding to its deep renewable energy knowledge base. The company, a global technology and software firm with a leading automation portfolio, including a majority stake in AspenTech, also helps manufacturers optimize operations, protect personnel, reduce emissions, and achieve sustainability goals.
Emerson's Ovation Green portfolio provides a clear view of renewable operations in a seamless space, using data from renewable generation and storage assets. The portfolio will be showcased at the Intersolar and Energy Storage North America Conference from February 14-16 in Long Beach, California. Yeager acknowledges that while green energy is a simple concept, the road to implementation is not always clear. He states that the Ovation Green portfolio was created to help power generation companies navigate this complex undertaking, providing the tools they need to transition to cleaner energy systems and scale up existing ones.
