Sadly, after decades of neglect and failed restoration attempts, it transformed into a crumbling, forgotten relic. But, fear not! By 2012, the restoration process was finally kick-started. ⏳🔨
A consortium of Romanian construction firms took up the daunting task, work on which was finally completed in December 2019. The revamp included strengthening the structure, restoring the façade, repairing intricate stained glass windows and mosaics, and mending decorative metal elements. The exterior surroundings, including the platform, utility networks, and the protective sea wall, were also given a much-needed makeover! 🌴🏖️
