American Gambling Awards Open Nominations Until August 5, 2023
The American Gambling Awards, a celebration of excellence in the online gambling industry, has opened nominations for its 12 categories. The deadline for submissions is August 5, 2023.
The awards are hosted by the Gambling.com Group, a company that prides itself on being a "love letter to the online gambling industry." The winners will be presented with an engraved Golden Eagle trophy, a unique piece designed by Society Awards, a U.S.-based firm.
Designing the Golden Eagle Trophy
Vicky Fotopoulou, the associate creative director at Society Awards, is responsible for the design of the American Gambling Awards trophy. Fotopoulou, who holds degrees from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, has ensured that the eagle and gaming chips are realistic and can be molded and manufactured correctly.
The trophy features a stack of golden casino chips at its base, symbolising industry-wide success in U.S. online gambling. The Golden Eagle trophy itself is an 11-inch, gold-plated statuette finished in a polygon treatment, representing the digital nature of the online gambling industry.
Collaborations and Installations
Society Awards has collaborated with the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina, on an immersive installation of over 150 luxury trophies, including the Golden Eagle. The Mint Museum has also displayed Society Awards' trophies for various events, such as the Academy of Country Music, Billboard, NAACP, NBC's "The Voice," BET, and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
In addition, Society Awards team has developed a "turntable animation" of the Golden Eagle trophy, showcasing it from all angles in a 360-degree display.
Legalisation of Online Gambling
Online sports betting has become legal in 38 states and Washington, D.C., and online casino gambling is legal in a half dozen states, with potential for growth across the country.
Sales and Congratulations
Larry Maloney, the vice president of sales for Society Awards, expressed his congratulations to the winners of the American Gambling Awards, stating that awards are earned. Maloney is also responsible for the vice presidency of sales for the Gambling.com Group's annual American Gambling Awards.
The American Gambling Awards Ceremony
The American Gambling Awards ceremony, established in 2019, recognises the top companies, organisations, and executives in online gambling nationally. The key dates for this year's ceremony have not been specified.
